Forgiven Quartet has been spreading the good news of Jesus Christ through song and testimony for 36 years with an emphasis on the smooth harmonies exemplifying southern gospel music.

The group will present a special concert during the worship service at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church (Vilmar) on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. The concert is free and the public is invited to attend. The quartet will instruct the kids during the Sunday School hour before the service, beginning at 8:45 a.m., and will be available after the service for fellowship.

Current members of the group are tenor Mark Brooke, from Bartlesville, Okla., lead Mark Green, from Owasso, Okla., baritone/bass player David Buckingham, from Tulsa, Okla., and Bink Mooney, from Lawton, Okla.

The group routinely performs at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri, has recently signed an exclusive artist agreement with The Song Garden Music Group out of Chesapeake, Virginia, and performed on the main stage at the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, Kentucky, as a result of winning a National Quartet Convention Regional Artist Showcase Event.

Forgiven Quartet is one of the most highly respected regional southern gospel quartets in the Midwest having ministered in 20 states. Twelve songs from their four latest Song Garden Music Group recordings have received significant air-play on several Christian music stations across the nation.

Daywind Producer and nationally-known song writer, Marty Funderburk from Nashville, Tennessee, said, “I have had the privilege of spending many days in the studio producing nine of Forgiven Quartet’s recent recordings. I’m very impressed with their vocal capabilities and their incredible blend. Even more impressive than this however, is their commitment to ministry and to preserving the rich heritage of southern gospel music.”

Some of their more recent radio releases include: “Count It All Joy,” “Destination Known,” “His Hand On Me,” “Miracle,” “Heaven's Harbor,” along with “I Have a Story to Tell,” and “Let Me Live” from their recording project released in February, 2017, entitled “It’s His Story.” Their latest full-length recording “I Know What Lies Ahead” was released April 1, 2018.

“These are Christian gentlemen of the highest order, obviously committed to spiritual and musical excellence. You can see it in their live performances and you can hear it in their recordings. Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to present to you, Forgiven Quartet…Southern Gospel Music at its finest,” Funderburk added.
